Content is Key for Social Media Success
Last weekend I spoke to a group of about 150 entrepreneurs about how to use Social Media to help their marketing and business endeavors. One of the most impactful things that I was told that I shared with the phrase "Post with Purpose". Many of the people that I spoke to after my training said that they were posting a lot of stuff, but no one was biting at their posts. When I said "Post with Purpose" they began to understand why.
To post for the sake of posting and being active without a real strategy, can be a waste of time and resources when it comes to social media. Here are some things that I would suggest you do before posting:
- Consider who your target market is and then provide posts and content that they will actually want to read.
- Determine what is the purpose of your post. Think about if you want to provide a call to action (like drive them to your website), educate them on something, provide information or education, or promote engagement.
- Keep your post concise and to the point.
These are great ways to stop and think before you hit the "post" button. The more quality content that you post as it pertains to your target market and to your marketing goals, the more engagement and lead generation you will get from your social media efforts.
